Welcome to the Department of Mathematics of Raja Bhoj Govt. College Katangi. It is noted in the Vedanga Jyotisha (c. 500 BC) that
In the words of the mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, “Mathematics is the queen of all sciences.”
The Department of Mathematics offers B.Sc.(Mathematics) & M.Sc. (Mathematics) degree programs. Currently, there are 02 Permanent Faculty and 01 Guest Faculty in the department. The faculty members are well qualified (Ph.D., CSIR-NET-JRF & M.Phil. etc.) and experienced. The objective of our Department is to transform young students into competent and motivated professionals with sound theoretical and practical knowledge. To foster thinking skills among the students as logical thinkers, enabling them to function as productive citizens and prepare them well for their Scientific and Social life. Since most of the students are from rural background and poor economic conditions we regularly aware our students about various fellowships/scholarships/exams/Internships/Govt. Schemes etc. so that all students are on the same page of opportunities & skill developments.
On the occasion of ‘National Mathematics Day’, the department organizes various competitions, webinar and activities for students to inspire them to learn mathematics for fun and develop creativity.
